Educational integration is not simply a language issue. This report examines the structural failures shaping the experiences of refugee children from Afghanistan in U.S. schools and outlines pathways for system-level reform.

On February 13, 2026, a significant gathering took place at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. The conference titled “From Exile to Empowerment: Unlocking Opportunities for Afghanistan’s Diasporic Community in the United States” brought together a diverse group of participants. These included members of Afghanistan’s diaspora, U.S.-based scholars, civil society activists, students, and professionals. The event was hosted by AIMED in partnership with Rumi House
